Confirmation

Confirmation is a Sacrament. It is one of the three initiation sacrament of the Church. At Baptism person became a new creation spiritually. The Eucharist feeds one spiritually. In Confirmation you will be strengthened for your spiritual journey throughout the rest of your life. In the Acts of the Apostles chapter 8 we read about Peter and John: "Now when the Apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. The two went down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit...then Peter and John laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit." (Act 8: 14-17)

God releases the power of the Holy Spirit into your life at Confirmation; Gifts such as: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, Reverence.

The preparation for Confirmation is normally in the student's freshman year of High School. Preparation is under the direction of the Parish Religious Education Leader.
